Solid#

We saw a gap.
So we built the bridge.

AI can write emails, answer questions, and generate content. But nobody built the infrastructure to make it actually run a business.

The Origin

Solid# started as a payment processing company. We built merchant onboarding, transaction processing, POS systems — the full stack. And every single merchant we talked to said the same thing:

Payments arent the problem. Everything else is.

They were drowning. Not in one thing — in everything. A plumber spending Sunday nights writing follow-up emails instead of being with his family. An HVAC company losing $40,000 a year in leads that fell through the cracks because nobody followed up. A bakery owner answering the same phone call 30 times a day — What time do you close?

The tools existed. CRMs, scheduling apps, email marketing platforms, chatbots, invoicing software. But they didnt talk to each other. And they all required the one thing small business owners dont have: time to sit at a computer.

The Question

By 2024, AI had become incredible at understanding language, generating content, and answering questions. But there was a gap nobody was filling:

Every AI tool on the market did the same thing:

You should send follow-up emails to your stale leads.

Great advice. But who sends them? The business owner — at 11 PM, after the kids are in bed.

AI could think. AI could recommend. But AI couldnt do. Not safely, not reliably, and not in a way that understood plumbing is different from baking is different from HVAC.

So we asked one question:

What if AI didnt just advise — but executed?

Not a chatbot that suggests. A workforce that acts. AI that sends the follow-up, books the appointment, processes the invoice, writes the campaign, and answers the phone — then reports back to you in the morning.

The Build

That question took two years to answer properly. Not because AI is hard — because making AI safe, reliable, and useful for 52 different industries is hard.

A chatbot can hallucinate and nobody gets hurt. But when AI is booking real appointments, sending real invoices, and talking to real customers on the phone — it has to be right. Every time.

We built cost control into the foundation.

AI is expensive. If an agent spirals or a model gets chatty, your bill explodes. So we built a system that controls cost at the infrastructure level — per request, per agent, per company. Your AI workforce has a budget, and it sticks to it.

We built intelligence into model selection.

Different tasks need different AI. Writing a marketing campaign needs creativity. Processing an invoice needs precision. Answering a phone call needs speed. We built a routing layer that picks the right AI model for each task automatically — so you get the best result at the lowest cost without thinking about it.

We built knowledge that understands your trade.

When a plumber signs up, the AI already knows what a backflow preventer is. When a bakery signs up, it knows the difference between fondant and buttercream. 52 industry templates, each with the terminology, services, pricing patterns, and FAQs that customers actually ask. Your AI workforce sounds like it’s been in your industry for years — because we spent years teaching it.

3.7 million lines of code. Not because we over-engineered it — because making AI actually run a business requires payment processing, CRM, scheduling, voice, SMS, email, marketing, inventory, analytics, and a security layer that keeps every companys data completely isolated from every other companys data.

Thats not a feature list. Thats infrastructure.

What We Believe

Three bets were making.

AI should do the work, not describe it.

The industry is full of AI that tells you what to do and then waits for you to do it. That’s a consultant, not a worker. Our AI recommends and executes. The follow-up gets sent. The appointment gets booked. The invoice goes out. No gap between insight and action.

You should own what you build.

Most software is a rental. Stop paying, lose everything. We think that’s broken. With Solid#, you own your website, your data, your workflows, your AI configurations. Stop paying and take it with you. Or graduate from renting to self-hosting. Your business, your rules.

Every industry deserves AI that speaks their language.

A plumber and a dentist have nothing in common except that they both need help running a business. Generic AI treats them the same. We don’t. 52 industry templates, each with specialized knowledge, terminology, and workflows — because “service appointment” means something completely different to an electrician than it does to a dog groomer.

The Future

We believe the future of business software isnt more dashboards, more logins, or more tools to learn. Its AI that works for you — quietly, reliably, around the clock.

The small business owner of tomorrow wont manage software. Theyll manage a workforce — some human, some AI — and the line between them will blur until it doesnt matter. What matters is the work gets done, the customers are happy, and the owner has time for the things that actually matter.

Thats what were building toward. And were not waiting for the future to get here.

of obsession built.

Five minutes from now, your AI workforce could be live.Answering calls. Booking appointments. Running your business.
